Leadership and Laptops
I just read an article from the March 2009 edition of USAA magazine entitled Leadership and Laptops. The BLUF of the responses to the theme coming from COs & PLs is the inordinate amount of time and effort consumed by after action / post patrol reports, all done using MS Powerpoint. WTF, over? Can anyone out there relate to this? I understand the need to report to higher but spending 2-3 hours a day on silly PP slides seems a bit much. What happened to the standard SALUTE report? Perhaps the Army has past me by but come on! I am rending the ‘I do not understand’ hand and arm signal.
