Obama’s $63 Billion

Add these $63 billion Washingtons to the ever growing list of “hope and change.” Emphasis mine.

WASHINGTON, May 5 (Reuters) – U.S. President Barack Obama will seek congressional approval for a $63 billion for a six-year global health initiative, a senior administration official said on Tuesday.

The money will go toward efforts to fight AIDS, tropical diseases and other illness and to help improve maternal health. It will be aimed at addressing “some of the biggest global health challenges,” said Deputy Secretary of State Jack Lew.

$63 billion dollars to global health? Yes, health is very important to all of us. However, with the economy still in the tank, children of Washington D.C. no longer getting school vouchers, and our taxes launching into orbit, do we really need to be funding this global initiative with our tax dollars? I don’t know about you, but I would feel a bit better about this spending if it was put towards solving these problems in AMERICA.

What else could we fund with our hard earned American tax dollars that would benefit America? Discuss in the comments.
