Lindsey Graham as Anakin Skywalker

Alright, I’m no Star Wars geek, but the analogy fit. Senator Lindsey Graham, the reserve Army Colonel, has partnered with Harry Reid, John Kerry, and the Joe Lieberman – a man for all seasons…as long as the season fits his mood. What hath this partnership wrought? Climate Change legislation, that’s what.
Despite the nation’s outcries at the subversive methods by which Obamacare was passed — you remember Nancy Pelosi’s “we have to pass it to see what’s in it” statement — Lindsey Graham thinks that we need Climate Change legislation so bad that we should duplicate the secrecy-shrouded dealings and drafting that resulted in Obamacare.
A few questions come to mind. “What the hell is he thinking?” is a bit to obvious. Why does he think that we need to establish carbon caps on industry? Why does Lindsey Graham think that we need to give the Environmental Protection Agency more power to crush industry? Why would he partner with two bleeding hearts and a liberal-as-hell independent to pass something that no other conservative wants? Has Lindsey sold his political soul for some other legislation that he intends to introduce later in the year? Is he preparing for retirement and wants to reveal his true liberal self before he vacates the premises?
The distinguished gentleman from South Carolina should reach out and speak to his constituency before embarking on a campaign to let the government control even more of the economy. It’s bad enough when liberals do it. We expect it. But now there is yet another traitor in our midst. They were traitors all through the Bush II Administration, and we knew it, but we turned a blind eye to it, because we were fighting a war. Now these traitorous acts shine bright in our current darkness.
Senator Graham, we know what you’re doing. We know that you recommended that the legislation be hidden from public scrutiny until Harry Reid could bring it directly to a vote (just like with Obamacare). We know that your concern is not to your constituency or to America but to your own ends…whatever they may be.
Someone needs to write a primer which lists the unequivocal aims of federal politicians. I hate thinking that they are all self-serving, self-aggrandizing bastards, but their actions speak for themselves. Despite his smooth southern drawl and pansy-ass exterior, Lindsey Graham is a brutal, self-serving politician in the same vein as Pelosi, Reid, Kerry, Lieberman, …oh hell. Basically all of them.
Time for a change. A real one.
