President Barack Obama spoke before the United Nation’s “Climate Change Summit” today.

No nation, however large or small, wealthy or poor, can escape the impact of climate change. Rising sea levels threaten every coastline. More powerful storms and floods threaten every continent. More frequent droughts and crop failures breed hunger and conflict in places where hunger and conflict already thrive. On shrinking islands, families are already being forced to flee their homes as climate refugees. The security and stability of each nation and all peoples — our prosperity, our health, and our safety — are in jeopardy. And the time we have to reverse this tide is running out.

And yet, we can reverse it. John F. Kennedy once observed that “Our problems are man-made, therefore they may be solved by man.” It is true that for too many years, mankind has been slow to respond or even recognize the magnitude of the climate threat. It is true of my own country, as well. We recognize that. But this is a new day. It is a new era. And I am proud to say that the United States has done more to promote clean energy and reduce carbon pollution in the last eight months than at any other time in our history.

Obviously, Obama isn’t listening to some of the leading scientists on so-called “global warming,” or it’s current PC term “climate change.”

Last week, Professor Mojib Latif of Germany’s Leibniz Institute gave a speech about global warming climate change. The Calvary Herald is about the only media that covered the event, for obvious reasons.

Latif is one of the leading climate modellers in the world. He is the recipient of several international climate-study prizes and a lead author for the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). He has contributed significantly to the IPCC’s last two five-year reports that have stated unequivocally that man-made greenhouse emissions are causing the planet to warm dangerously.

Yet last week in Geneva, at the UN’s World Climate Conference–an annual gathering of the so-called “scientific consensus” on man-made climate change –Latif conceded the Earth has not warmed for nearly a decade and that we are likely entering “one or even two decades during which temperatures cool.”

The global warming theory has been based all along on the idea that the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans would absorb much of the greenhouse warming caused by a rise in man-made carbon dioxide, then they would let off that heat and warm the atmosphere and the land.

But as Latif pointed out, the Atlantic, and particularly the North Atlantic, has been cooling instead. And it looks set to continue a cooling phase for 10 to 20 more years.

So, who do we believe here? The most partisan President in the history of this country trying to further an extremely liberal agenda, or a scientist whose past research indicates that global warming is indisputable and now says he was wrong?

But it is increasingly clear that global warming is on hiatus for the time being. And that is not what the UN, the alarmist scientists or environmentalists predicted. For the past dozen years, since the Kyoto accords were signed in 1997, it has been beaten into our heads with the force and repetition of the rowing drum on a slave galley that the Earth is warming and will continue to warm rapidly through this century until we reach deadly temperatures around 2100.

While they deny it now, the facts to the contrary are staring them in the face: None of the alarmist drummers ever predicted anything like a 30-year pause in their apocalyptic scenario.

Latif says he expects warming to resume in 2020 or 2030.

In own words during the speech, Latib said that he is “not one of the sceptics. However, we have to ask the nasty questions ourselves or other people will do it.”

The New Scientist also published parts of the speech.

Latif said NAO cycles also explained the recent recovery of the Sahel region of Africa from the droughts of the 1970s and 1980s. James Murphy, head of climate prediction at the Met Office, agreed and linked the NAO to Indian monsoons, Atlantic hurricanes and sea ice in the Arctic. “The oceans are key to decadal natural variability,” he said.

So, instead of facts from leading scientists on the issue of global warming climate change, President Obama used his typical “crisis” and “urgency” defense to try and force stupidity down our throats.

Mr. Secretary, as we meet here today, the good news is that after too many years of inaction and denial, there’s finally widespread recognition of the urgency of the challenge before us. We know what needs to be done. We know that our planet’s future depends on a global commitment to permanently reduce greenhouse gas pollution. We know that if we put the right rules and incentives in place, we will unleash the creative power of our best scientists and engineers and entrepreneurs to build a better world. And so many nations have already taken the first step on the journey towards that goal.

But the journey is long and the journey is hard. And we don’t have much time left to make that journey. It’s a journey that will require each of us to persevere through setbacks, and fight for every inch of progress, even when it comes in fits and starts. So let us begin. For if we are flexible and pragmatic, if we can resolve to work tirelessly in common effort, then we will achieve our common purpose: a world that is safer, cleaner, and healthier than the one we found; and a future that is worthy of our children.

But, has the mainstream media mentioned what this scientist has said? Have they noted is 180 degree reversal? No. It doesn’t fit the liberal template of what they want the public to believe.

There is a lot of heated debate out there today that mostly centers around the politics and aspirations of our out of control Congress and President. The recent town hall meetings on health care have generated a lot of heated confrontations, but mostly just spirited debate on the topic. Nancy Pelosi accused critics of the health care plan of being “nazis” and carrying “swastikas” to the rallies. Interestingly, up to that point on ONE instance of a swastika had been found at one of these town halls and it had a line drawn through it. In other words, the sign implied “we don’t want nazi-like health care.”

However, since our liberal politicians have made these wild and completely false accusations, instances of supposed “rightwing extremism” have been popping up all over the country. Suddenly, congressman are having swastikas spray painted on their buildings. The debate has moved into the absurd. MSNBC reports that threats against President Obama are higher than any other president in history and suggest this is because he is the first black president. Is this the case? Are the white supremacists out in full force fighting against health care and everything else simply because Obama is a black man?

According to the AP:

An African-American man from Mississippi admits posing as a white supremacist to send a death threat across state lines by Facebook.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office says 20-year-old Dyron L. Hart of Poplarville pleaded guilty Wednesday in federal court to making a threat in November 2008.

Hart admitted creating a name and using a white supremacists’ photo to pose as a white man who planned to kill blacks because Barack Obama had been elected president.

Strangely, I only found that AP story on the Fox News site. The same “news” agency, MSNBC, that is carrying news of all these rightwing extremists and white supremacists has not said ONE WORD about Dyron Hart. CNN has a story up on the subject, however.

Maybe President Obama was right during his speech in Montana when responding to a self-professed “proud NRA member”:

Q Okay. My name is Randy, I’m from Ekalaka, Montana. And as you can see, I’m a proud NRA member. (Applause.) I believe in our Constitution, and it’s a very important thing. I also get my news from the cable networks because I don’t like the spin that comes from them other places.

THE PRESIDENT: Oh, you got to be — you got to be careful about them cable networks, though. (Laughter.) But that’s okay, go ahead, go on with your question.

Get this. 1948. With some minor changes it could be 2009… well, 2008 really. All too many already drank the brew and now we are seeing what it brings. Remember, in 1948 the United States had a national debt that was over four times the GNP as a result of WW-II. (And you thought we have a huge debt!) Our nation had a lot of choices to make.

Of course, most of the people who owned US Bonds then were Americans… not Chinese. But now we are waaaaay too smart to buy our own junk. Goes for cars, too.

There is not much on this earth that cannot be undone… except death and the passing of time. Most everything else can be undone… or perhaps fixed would be a better word. Make no mistake, though, the bottle of “ISM” has already been purchased and consumed by more than half of the population. Call it what you want… “liberalISM,” “socialISM” or whatever.

It’s funny that this actually came from a college. Nowadays, you’d be more likely to have a college or university produce a cartoon extolling the virtues of “ISM.”

It’s still nothing new. You know what is new?

So many people bought it.

The Washingtonian is publishing a photo of Barack Obama without a shirt on the cover of its May edition. There nothing wrong with that. What I have a problem with is the blatant attempts to make the President into something he’s not by photoshopping the photo. First is the original, then the airbrushed and edited photo used by the Washingtonian:

Now, here’s the edited version, on which I have highlighted the changes:

1. Shoulder airbrushed to looked more muscular through the use of shadows.
2. Bicep and shoulder airbrushed to look more muscular through the use of elongated shadows.
3. Love handles on both sides have been eliminated (not that he was fat to begin with!)
4. The color of his shorts has been changed and shadows added to add bulk to quads and legs.
5. Didn’t circle them, but airbrushing added to further define leg muscles.

So far, I don’t think these photos have been scrutinized yet! This is the first.

It seems that the uproar by many blogs (to include this one), Veteran groups like Vets For Freedom and Veterans of Foreign Wars, and many in the public in general have been heard by the Obama Administration. DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano gave an apology on Fox News on Thursday for the report that was blogged about on here that accused returning war veterans and those concerned about the 2nd Amendment being suspect of turning into domestic terrorism.

Personally I would like to have seen more than just this statement “If there’s one part of this report that I would rewrite …it would be that footnote,” which she said on Fox News. I would have rather seen her say that having the veteran reference everywhere in there is just wrong, and comparing all veterans to Timothy McViegh is just wrong. In my opinion that would have been the right thing to apologize for.

But hey, I guess beggars can’t be choosers and we should be glad that she at least realized the sh**storm she started with approving of this report in the first place.

Who cares about statistical facts when you can just skew the truth and allow the media to report it as fact. The Big O even has Hillary spouting these lies and you would think she would know better. I mean it was her husband who tried to skew the definition of the term “sexual relations” an re-define what it means.

This is why I watch Fox News, not because they are conservative or anything like that. Because they are fair, and they report fair things. They have plenty of opposing views and allow both sides to present arguments. Unlike the Crappy News Network or National Barack Channel who only report the side they want you to hear. Now, click below to read what I am talking about.

Okay, I will also throw my hat in the ring: I want Obama to fail! Not only do I want him to fail, I want him to fail immediately. Naturally, like Limbaugh, I don’t want HIM to fail, but his policies. I’m going to focus on two specific arenas since I’ve already covered his economic policies that I want to fail – 2nd Amendment Rights and Veteran Health Care.

While Obama was campaigning, he specifically stated, “I’m not going to take your guns away.” He said it at rallies in Duryea, Pennsylvania and in Boise, Idaho. He also told a news conference that “Lawful gun owners have nothing to fear…I think people can take me at my word.” Maybe the problem is that Obama’s “thinking” is all jacked. The reality is that the American people can NOT take the President at his word. I wouldn’t believe Obama any more if he told me that it snows in Antarctica.

A little over a year ago, I wrote a piece called “What Makes a Statement False?” over at A Soldier’s Perspective. In that piece I talked about the difference between lying and being wrong. A lie is saying something that is knowingly different from the truth. So, to say that Obama was lying when he said that “lawful gun owners have nothing to fear” while his own campaign website at the time touted his plan to revive the gun ban and make it permanent is the truth.

In Obama’s case it’s actually much more sinister. What if he WASN’T lying when he said those words? I mean, honestly, the key word was “lawful”. All Obama really has to do is make gun possession illegal and suddenly he’s telling the truth. Anyone owning a gun that isn’t in the military or police force would then technically be an “unlawful” gun owner. I say that because this is exactly what Obama is planning to do. I will soon be an outlaw!

Attorney General Eric Holder recently commented that he was reinstating a ban on the sale of assault weapons in America. The reasoning he gave, in typical liberal fashion, was to blame those weapons on the increased violence on the Mexican border. The guns I own have been sitting in their safe, secure locations since I purchased them and they haven’t killed anyone yet. How could such dangerous “assault rifles” be so deadly just sitting there? To ensure that they don’t break out of their hiding spots, jump on a Greyhound bus, and head to the border and start arbitrarily shooting people I’ve chained them to the floor and grounded them.

The other day I went to the range and just sat there waiting for my guns to start practicing while I read a book. After finishing a chapter, I looked up and noticed that not one round had been fired! I thought maybe I had somehow angered my gun and apologized profusely, begging for forgiveness and a clue as to what I had done wrong. It wouldn’t even talk to me! Didn’t say a word. I again apologized and set it back down to use the rest of my range time constructively and went back to my book. When my time was up, I again noticed that indeed my gun hadn’t fired any shots without me! How could this be? After all, these guns are dangerous, murderous, violent weapons! They kill indiscriminately across the globe and surely banning them will end this vicious cycle of violence!

Naturally, this is a fictitous argument. Guns don’t kill people; people kill people. The fact is I could have had ANY weapon on the face of the earth on that range and it wouldn’t have shot a single round without a person pulling the trigger. Now the President wants to make criminals out of thousands of innocent, patriotic gun owners by outlawing so-called “assault rifles”. Therefore, Obama is a liar and could care less about our Constitutional rights. It is imperative that if you believe in the 2nd Amendment, you contact your representatives and senators and implore them to vote against any attempts to reinstate the ban. According to the site, Obama “support[s] making the expired federal Assault Weapons Ban permanent, as such weapons belong on foreign battlefields and not on our streets.” Why not? Does this look dangerous to you?

24. When you remove the people’s right to bear arms, you create slaves.
25. The American Revolution would never have happened with gun control.

Second is veterans’ health care. VA Secretary Eric “Army Beret” Shinseki confirmed that the Obama administration is considering a controversial plan to make veterans pay for treatment of service-related injuries with private insurance. That’s right! While government insurance is necessary for the rest of America, military members will have to have private insurance to pay for the injuries sustained by fighting wars the country sent them to fight. To be fair, there is no official proposal and Shinseki noted that the policy is only under “consideration”.

Consideration? In an era where the administration is trying to convince the American people through trillion dollar budgets, why in the hell would they even “consider” making Soldiers use private insurance? Just by acknowledging that the administration is considering this policy means that Obama has lied again. On his campaign website, Obama said that he is “committed to creating a 21st Century Department of Veterans’ Affairs that provides the care and benefits our nation’s veterans deserve.”

Thankfully, many Senators are warning the administration that if they even attempt such legislation, it will be shut down immediately.

North Carolina Republican Richard Burr, said he agreed that the idea should not go forward.

“I think you will give that up” as a revenue stream, if it is included in this April’s budget, Burr told Shinseki.

This isn’t a good sign for our military and further proof that we have a President who is hostile to us. Without any time to fully look into the realities of Gitmo, he signed an executive order to close the prison just 48 hours in office. He announced a firm withdrawal date from Iraq (I agree we’ve won in Iraq and should come home, but you don’t publicly announce the date to the enemy).

I am so honored and flattered to announce that we here at MilitaryPundits have been recognized for our voice and our opinions by the MSM (Mainstream Media) a whole lot faster than we ever thought we would be. Yesterday afternoon, SkyNews out of the UK reached out to us for an appearance on one of their shows. CJ was busy and I just happened to have the time available in the very short 3 hour window we had to respond, coordinate and get setup. Originally I thought they were wanting to talk to us about the surge in Afghanistan, but it wasn’t until I was on the air that I realized they wanted to talk about President Obama’s announcement yesterday of his timetable for Iraq (which is longer and different than he campaigned on). I was only on for a short time, but I was still very honored and excited to do it.

For me personally being on the show was not that big a deal as I have been interviewed many times by local, national and international media outlets before. However that was because of my personal blog which has been up for a few years and talks about Afghanistan almost exclusively. This time they reached out to CJ and I because of this site, MilitaryPundits.com.

One of CJ and my goals in starting this site was to have a common-sense and well-earned voice out in the media on political opinions and views. Rather than blow-hards and people that think they know what they are talking about always spouting stuff, we felt that veterans should have a voice. Veterans who have fought for and toiled to provide for this country. It was my personal goal that within 6 months of this site going live that maybe, just maybe, MSM outlets would start to recognize us and reach out to us. I would never have imagined that it would have happened only 8 days after this site going live. You can ask my wife, I was on cloud 9 all afternoon because of this site being recognized so quickly.

I don’t have the link yet to the video (which was done via Skype with video patched into their studios), but as soon as I can get it from them I will post it here. BTW, I don’t think I did that great because I honestly was not prepared for the topic but hopefully I did not do too bad where they won’t call on us again. They said they will and hopefully with more notice I can line up one or more of the other authors of this site for them to talk to.
