The listed dictators had the start date of the gun removal and then the date of when they started the killing and the numbers of people killed. One of the photos was asking what was going to keep your daugther safe a gun a condom or the call the police that are a mile away when she has a rapist one block from her. It also has the poem written with it. thanks Have any of you seen the the above photo and a few other ones put together with a list of some of the dictators over the last so 75 years. Your words express a heartfelt tone. I'm as conservative as it comes, maybe a little to the right of Atilla the Hun. I wish you and your boys well. Your right about the way this country is changing. Very sad indeed. Maybe it is time for a revolution, a cleansing, as America needs to wake up. I hope to God it comes soon. Patti, for a liberal you sound like you have a great deal of sense! Thu, 16 Apr 2009 23:13:56 +0000 http://militarypundits.com/?p=433#comment-959 I live near a small city on the Oregon coast. One day, walking down on the beach where I often go a homeless man living in the trees above the shoreline accosted me. He accused me of violating his vagrant camping area and threatened to kill me. I ran away from the man down the beach a long ways to get away from him and avoid an altercation, then walked up the highway to return home. Upon returning home I immediately called the county sheriff's office, worried that this man might attack others. They told me it wasn't their area of responsibility and made me call the State Police. The State Police NEVER showed up. At all. Flash forward a year. I was working, with my family, at a camp in the mountains. We had occasional problems with campers due to drinking and drug issues. The county sheriff's office was supposed to patrol through our area. They seldom did. When we called for emergencies it took them 25 MINUTES to get to the scene. One time we had a armed person on meth attacking campers. A group of EMTs (trained in restraint techniques) held the man down until an officer from one of the closer towns showed up (the sheriffs showed up later). Needless to say, I got my CCW after the first incident and plan to renew it FOREVER. "When SECONDS count, the police are only MINUTES away." We can not put the responsibility of protecting our families on anyone, and I consider myself fairly pro-police. Nations come and go, as history shows, and there is no one but you who cares enough to keep your family secure. I live near a small city on the Oregon coast. I have a lovely 20 gauge shotgun I can handle, and about 50 boxes of ammunition (I bought one every time I got a paycheck until I got to 50 boxes). I'm a single mother with two boys. We all take classes with a nice ex-police woman who trains the police and also civilians. I wish I didn't feel like I needed to have a gun at home to feel safe. I don't own a handgun yet, but will as soon as I can afford it. I want a nice one... I'm told a Glock is easy to conceal and will be shopping for one. I am a Democrat, liberal as they come... but I am also a woman alone in a house with two kids. The world seems more dangerous today than it did 10 years ago. People are more likely to pull over into your lane than to wait for you to go by. People are more likely to find a reason to hate you than to make you their neighbor. People you would never expect seem to be more likely to vicitmize you than to help you out, or even leave you alone, unless you have something threatening to show them. I keep my shotgun by my bed each night, and use the safety lock during the day. Nothing bad has happened to us yet (knock on wood), and hopefully nothing ever will. Hopefully, I will never need to shoot anyone, as I would really rather not. But if someone comes into my home, I will not hesitate to blow their criminal and unlucky little brains all over my walls to protect my family. I hope for the best, but will continue to prepare for whatever may come our way. I teach my boys the same. I hope I am just a little paranoid when I feel that the way people live in America is on a downward spiral. I don't let it take over my life... but I will not ignore that feeling. If I'm wrong, then no one is hurt, and no one is even incovenienced. If I'm right, then maybe my family will have some hope of making our way to a safer place, or to food and shelter, and good drinking water. I'm a teacher, and a part-time government employee. I hope President Obama has the answers that will repair the hopelessness and desperation I see in people who have no job and are losing their homes and livelihoods. But if it is too late, then I hope I am as ready as I can reasonably be for whatever comes to pass. I live in Texas, and recently went to get my CWL. I personally own a gun and bullets. I will use it to protect myself and/or my family. The criminals will always have weapons and American's are foolish to think they need to get rid of them. Oh, I know, tell the intruder to wait a minute, you have to call 911 and let the local police department handle the situation. No thank you, break into my home and you'll be seeing your maker a lot sooner than you planned. Thank you. God Bless America! Wake up America!! I personally own a gun and bullets.

Out of 2.5 million reported 'gun pulls' by CCW holders, they won 98.x % of the time .... and the vast majority of the time, just showing the gun makes the 'social event' / 'community organizer fund seizure' end quickly without bloodshed. If you are trapped in your bedroom, just the racking of the shottie or the click of the safety on AK typically gets bad guys moving the other direction. IF they pursue the matter, you can always keep the gun empty and let them kill you. But your odds are better than that :-) #
