I was going to write about this as I personally watched the President speak yesterday and my jaw hit the floor when he said this and showed such disrespect that he could not remember the details of the few MOHs he has presented, to include the very first one to a living recipient since Vietnam. I am sure Jared Monti’s family was just mortified.

Since the guys over at Blackfive beat me to it, here is the link so you can read what they already wrote. Overall to me it just shows what an uncaring a$$hole the President is. Not because of any other reason than just his disrespect for our warriors.

Must have been a good policy http://militarypundits.com/2011/05/must-have-been-a-good-policy/ http://militarypundits.com/2011/05/must-have-been-a-good-policy/#comments Fri, 27 May 2011 13:52:47 +0000 Bouhammer http://militarypundits.com/?p=1377

It seems that all those things that President Bush did may not have been so bad. I wonder where Code Pink, Huffington Post and Daily Kos are now?

(Emphasis below is mine)

Congress on Thursday passed a four-year extension of post-Sept. 11 powers to search records and conduct roving wiretaps in pursuit of terrorists. Votes taken in rapid succession in the Senate and House came after lawmakers rejected attempts to temper the law enforcement powers to ensure that individual liberties are not abused.

Following the 250-153 evening vote in the House, the legislation to renew three terrorism-fighting authorities headed for the president’s signature with only hours to go before the provisions expired at midnight.

With Obama currently in France, the White House said the president would use an autopen machine that holds a pen and signs his actual signature. It is only used with proper authorization of the president. Minutes before the midnight deadline, the White House said Obama had signed the bill.
Obama said he was pleased the act had been extended.

Not only did he extend it, he did it remotely with a high speed autopen machine that can sign his signature. So while he is in France he is telling his Michael Moore and America hating supporters that he doesn’t care why they put him in office, he is going to do what is neccesary to secure this country.

I applaud him for being a wise man and leading with what he knows is right and not with his pride. This is not the first time he has extended it, this is the second time.

I also think this is a great example that it is easy to throw darts from the sidelines at the man in the chair, but why one shouldn’t. President Obama had not been enlightened to all the intelligence and security details prior to being sworn in, but now that he has been in the office and gets those daily intelligence updates he knows why President Bush did so many of the things he did after 9/11/01.

Now Obama would really impress me if he got in front of the podium just one time and rather than blaming Bush, gave him credit and applauded all that he had done.

Obama is my Ex-Wife http://militarypundits.com/2011/04/obama-is-my-ex-wife/ http://militarypundits.com/2011/04/obama-is-my-ex-wife/#comments Mon, 18 Apr 2011 20:06:47 +0000 Country Singer http://militarypundits.com/?p=1333

The other day I was contemplating our national state of affairs while sipping a beer at my local VFW. Somewhere amidst the swirling smoke emanating from cigarettes and the hamburgers sizzling on the grill it occurred to me that our President and my ex-wife have a lot in common.

Promises made but not kept - Too many to mention here, but here’s a good one: “Forsaking all others”. Remember that line from traditional marriage vows? Yeah, three months after she uttered that line she was screwing a guy in her squadron behind my back. Sort of like Obama and the union bosses/far left activists/Democratic party leadership cavorting behind closed doors after promising “the most transparent administration” ever.

Complete lack of fiscal responsibility – I paid off approximately $5000 in credit card bills in a year. All hers (I didn’t have a credit card then, and still don’t). Debt that I did not accrue. And I did it with my own money, not hers. What was my thanks? She kept piling on debt, expecting me to pay for it. Sound familiar, America?

It’s someone else’s fault – My ex actually thought that I would buy into the idea that her wanting a divorce was my fault with no actual logic provided. She couldn’t tell me why it was my fault, she could only tell me that it was my fault (while denying that she was having an affair). Sounds like a certain President we all know who keeps telling us it’s all Bush’s fault (while satisfying the needs of the unions).

Excuses, excuses - “I can’t make height/weight because I’ve had two kids.” No, you couldn’t make height/weight because you don’t do an iota of PT and eat large quantities of fatty foods. Sort of like, “We can’t cut the deficit because the mean Republicans want to kill old people and starve children.” No, we can’t cut the deficit because you are beholden to the entitlement class and special interests that put you in office.

Which brings to the one that irks me to no end:

“It’s for the children” – At one point, I had purchased one of those large assortments of frozen meat from the guys that roll around with a chest freezer in the back of their truck. You know, a few hundred pounds of pork, chicken, seafood, and steak. Again, paid for out of my account, not hers, although she certainly didn’t mind noshing on it. When I moved out, I took the prime cuts of beef that were still left and a few other odds and ends. I left the things like the chicken strips, chicken breasts, hamburgers and shrimp. My ex had a fit, accusing me of taking food from the mouths of her children. Sorry, lady, but the last time I checked their 6- and 8-year old palates hadn’t developed a taste for filet mignon. Not to mention I was CONUS taking care of them while she was deployed and screwing around. Evidently I’m some kind of child abuser because I needed food for my new apartment and took what I bought and knew the kids wouldn’t eat. Likewise, every time I hear anyone in this administration try to justify some asinine expenditure because “it’s for the children” I want to scream. No, it’s not “for the children” and we all know it. It’s to satisfy the pockets of the teacher’s unions and special interest groups, just like my ex wanted those filet mignons for her own fat ass.

Hopefully 2012 will give us the divorce we so desperately need.

DoD: No Spousal Benefits for Gay Partners http://militarypundits.com/2011/03/dod-no-spousal-benefits-for-gay-partners/ http://militarypundits.com/2011/03/dod-no-spousal-benefits-for-gay-partners/#comments Wed, 23 Mar 2011 15:00:16 +0000 Bouhammer http://militarypundits.com/?p=1317

Regardless of the Obama administration’s decision not to defend the law defining marriage as a heterosexual union, the U.S. military won’t be extending spousal benefits to same sex couples. The federal Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) remains on the books and the military will continue to follow it after repeal of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell is fully implemented. Signed into law by President Bill Clinton in 1996, the DOMA strictly defines “marriage: as a union between a man and woman. The law has often been cited by opponents of federal spousal rights for homosexual couples. Obama Admin not being as “open” as promised http://militarypundits.com/2011/02/obama-admin-not-being-as-open-as-promised/ http://militarypundits.com/2011/02/obama-admin-not-being-as-open-as-promised/#comments Wed, 02 Feb 2011 21:05:00 +0000 Bouhammer http://militarypundits.com/2011/02/obama-admin-not-being-as-open-as-promised/

So what happened to the “buzzwords” of the 2008 election campaign season? You know words like Change and Transparency. I guess they don’t apply anymore. Bold Emphasis is mine.

QUESTION: “Finally, we have not had a chance to ask President Obama any questions since this crisis began. There have been at least a couple of occasions that could have been open to the press that weren’t. Can you explain why we haven’t been able to talk to him?”

ROBERT GIBBS, WH: “Ben, I think you will get a chance likely to talk to the president later in the week when [Canadian] Prime Minister Harper is here. We have had a couple of occasions that have been still photographers only. Those were part of the coverage plans that had been in place for a bit now in terms of those events. I will say this, Ben. I think we have, like you all, watched a series of rapidly-moving events — you’ve heard from the president in what’s happened in Egypt. We will continue to keep you up-to-date as best as we can on what goes on, knowing quite honestly that some things in foreign policy have to be done away from TV cameras. Those are the types of direct and frank talks that the president had last night with President Mubarak.”

Hmm I remember when President Bush used to catch hell from the LEFT when he did the same things sometimes, out of necessity. Personally I am sure in this situation with President Obama it was warranted for not having cameras there also. However when you got into office as being the guy who was all for open-ness and have done things like making our interrogation techniques public information to show how “open” this administration is, then I am going to call you on it.

Guest Blogger, Major Frank Arouet: Follow up to the SOTU http://militarypundits.com/2011/01/guest-blogger-major-frank-arouet-follow-up-to-the-sotu/ http://militarypundits.com/2011/01/guest-blogger-major-frank-arouet-follow-up-to-the-sotu/#comments Wed, 26 Jan 2011 18:29:04 +0000 Bouhammer http://militarypundits.com/?p=1272

We are all sad about Congresswoman Giffords. Not sad enought to have a pep rally and make t-shirts, but still, bummed. She’ll live, and even if she didn’t, get back to presidentin’.

The economy is still broke dummy. You ran against GWB on his economy, and yours is exponentially worse. Spending trillions to “fix it” failed, (remember cash for clunkers? You gave MY tax dollars to other people, with no benefit to anyone except automakers.) Spendig trillions more won’t fix it either. Maybe if you’d ever held a job in your life that required you to balance books, you’d understand that you can’t spend your way out of debt. You also can’t “create” jobs–the government can only grow so large before the taxable base is unable to support it. You can only make the environment more friendly for the economy to grow. Think of it like a garden. Business is the seeds, capital is the soil and water, and government is the manure. A little goes a LONG way.

Your idea for healthcare will. not. work. Ask California how socialized, universal healthcare is working for them. Your goal to give an additional 30 million people healthcare comes from the money the federal government takes from us. If you’d bothered to look around the room instead of at the TelePrompTer, you’d notice that there are far fewer faces of old friends and cronies there, and that old crone who sits behind you (not Biden, the other one) isn’t there anymore. We, the people, sent a pretty clear message. Fix the economy and repeal Obamacare. If you want to “jump start” the economy, be a business friendly government–which doesn’t mean inviting half the fortune 500 CEOs over for tea, it means adopting policies that don’t restrict businesses from growing, lowering taxes on businesses, especially small businesses. Also, reign in your tree huggers from the EPA. They are the single biggest government funded impediment to growth.

Don’t tell me I should pity the poor children of illegal immigrants because their parents are criminals, and they have been given every opportunity to succeed because of our overly-generous social welfare that doesn’t take into account a person’s eleigibility to receive money taken from citizens under threat of imprisonment. The parents should be deported, and because they have no claim to be here, they, too should go.

As for the many thousands of college students who come here on school visas, they are going to return to their home countries anyway, and compete against us as a nation, or stay here and compete against us in the marketplpace. End school visa programs too, except for people coming from countries whose aren’t actively anti-american. That way, we can maintain a monopoly on the best-educated workforce in the world. The more foreigners we let study here, the more we hurt ourselves. Can’t have it both ways.

Iraq: You quit. We’re leaving, unfinished. I’m not to unhappy about that, as you never had any idea what to do about it anyway, and your indecisiveness would only have gotten more soldiers killed. Afghanistan: 1. Put up or shut up. 2. Shut Joey B. up 3. If you don’t have any idea what we should do, bring us home, admit that you are clueless, and don’t run again.

Mr. President, we, the people are really damn tired of amateur hour at the Apollo. We are not a social experiment, we live, work, and exist in the real world where our choices have consequences and lofty ideas are met with harsh reality. We know that just because there is unjustness in the world, that some are poor and others rich, some are weak, others strong, that trying to bring everyone to meet the statistical average means than no one excells. Not keeping score only works for kindergarden soccer games. After that, people keep score. We keep it in terms of deeds, words, and achievements. You once gave yourself a B+. Any guess what your grade is today?

President Obama admits he was not up for the job http://militarypundits.com/2010/11/president-obama-admits-he-was-not-up-for-the-job/ http://militarypundits.com/2010/11/president-obama-admits-he-was-not-up-for-the-job/#comments Tue, 09 Nov 2010 04:33:19 +0000 Bouhammer http://militarypundits.com/2010/11/president-obama-admits-he-was-not-up-for-the-job/

I could not believe it when I heard him say the words. I was amazed that he admitted that he was in over his head. If you load the video below and then move it up to the 4:28 mark, you will hear what I am talking about. This is from his recent interview with 60 minutes.

“when your campaigning, I think you are liberated to say things without thinking about how am I going to practically implement this”

Yes those were his words. So what he really was saying was that while campaigning you can say whatever you want, make whatever promises you want and not worry about how you will live up to those promises.

America, do you now believe that you were fed a line of BS. He just admitted it. He just admitted that he didn’t know how he was going to do things, he was just promising whatever. This is the guy you put into office and why all of his opponents were screaming that he had NO EXPERIENCE, was NOT QUALIFIED, was NOT FIT to be President of the United States. Good Job! Your ignorance have put us all in peril for at least four years, and our kids to suffer for years to come.

Thanks to some a fellow milblogger, Taco Bell, I am able to share this editorial with you. If you read nothing else today, I highly suggest reading this one. This guys appears to have had everything going for him. He punched all the right blocks and had a very respectable career. Yet he walked away from it all, because of the American voter.

I had chosen, freely, to place my life between those that would do harm to the U.S. and those whom I would protect: her citizens. I had always believed in the best of America and the people of her lands; that despite occasional missteps there was a general “rightness” to our way. I lived that belief for 22 years, leading and following warriors into combat. I’m certainly no war hero; my brothers in arms have seen far more combat, more intense and personal than I. But I have become acquainted with death in a way that I hope you never do. My last tour, on the ground in Iraq was where my heart started to be hardened towards you, the electorate, and culminated in this letter, written two days before our elections. And here’s why.

Are you kidding me?? http://militarypundits.com/2010/07/are-you-kidding-me/ http://militarypundits.com/2010/07/are-you-kidding-me/#comments Fri, 02 Jul 2010 17:42:40 +0000 Constitutional Insurgent http://militarypundits.com/?p=1209

I’m not sure why the Republican Party so set against my ever joining common cause with them, but here goes reason number 2,345:

Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele may be misremembering exactly how and when the Afghanistan war began.
At a Republican Party fundraiser in Connecticut on Thursday, Steele declared that the war in Afghanistan “was a war of Obama’s choosing” that America had not “actively prosecuted or wanted to engage in,” in a response to an attendee’s question about the resignation of Gen. Stanley McChrystal — which Steele called “very comical.”
“The McChrystal incident, to me, was very comical. And I think it’s a reflection of the frustration that a lot of our military leaders have with this Administration and their prosecution of the war in Afghanistan,” said Steele. “Keep in mind again, federal candidates, this was a war of Obama’s choosing. This is not something the United States had actively prosecuted or wanted to engage in.”
“It was one of those, one of those areas of the total board of foreign policy ["in the Middle East"? -- Note: The audio is not quite clear in this section.] that we would be in the background, sort of shaping the changes that were necessary in Afghanistan as opposed to directly engaging troops,” Steele continued. “But it was the president who was trying to be cute by half by flipping a script demonizing Iraq, while saying the battle really should be in Afghanistan. Well, if he’s such a student of history, has he not understood that you know that’s the one thing you don’t do, is engage in a land war in Afghanistan? All right, because everyone who has tried, over a thousand years of history, has failed. And there are reasons for that. There are other ways to engage in Afghanistan.”
TPM

Mike…..Mike….Have you forgotten the grammatically challenged swaggering CinC who executed the invasion and ‘land war’ in 2001…then turned away to pursue an unrelated military adventure in 2003? Have you forgotten all of the pretend patriotic bluster when anyone came close to questioning the strategies for both? Way to go in illustrating how intellectually stunted your party is to keep you on as head mouthpiece. I mean, we all expect political hacks to lie, deceive and bloviate, but you’ve taken dishonesty to a new level. Bravo….
