Homeland Security Secretary Apologizes

It seems that the uproar by many blogs (to include this one), Veteran groups like Vets For Freedom and Veterans of Foreign Wars, and many in the public in general have been heard by the Obama Administration. DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano gave an apology on Fox News on Thursday for the report that was blogged about on here that accused returning war veterans and those concerned about the 2nd Amendment being suspect of turning into domestic terrorism.

Personally I would like to have seen more than just this statement “If there’s one part of this report that I would rewrite …it would be that footnote,” which she said on Fox News. I would have rather seen her say that having the veteran reference everywhere in there is just wrong, and comparing all veterans to Timothy McViegh is just wrong. In my opinion that would have been the right thing to apologize for.

But hey, I guess beggars can’t be choosers and we should be glad that she at least realized the sh**storm she started with approving of this report in the first place.

  1. Don’t let your guard down. She realizes alot of things she’s done wrong, but like others she only cares when she gets caught. And it won’t change how she conducts business behind the scenes. I’m disgusted that she was appointed to this position, but also happy she’s no longer Gov. of my state.

  2. No worries CJ. I forgot we were talking with Pete tonight and I should have put that in there. Also, thanks to some more insight from readers, I am not quite sure what she did was an apology.

  3. Behold, the power of the blog…
    especially this one!!

  4. Now she needs to apologize to the right wingers. How ludicrous is it to make a list like this, with no intention to even show it, and label people based on their morality (like abortion), their beliefs (like the second amendment), and their anger on the issue of government spending. People are allowed to be angry without worrying about being labeled an extremist.
